Although we may not want to admit it, summer is well and truly over. Outside we’re already beginning to feel the sub-zero temperatures creeping up on us and it’s just a matter of time until we see the first snowfall. It is especially for when the temperatures drop, the weather turns harsher and we start getting ready for winter that our partner Haglöfs has launched a new jacket, which will make the transition into the cold season a little easier to withstand. The new Haglöfs Essens Mimic jacket is already available in our shop, so we’d like to introduce you to it now.
What you notice the moment you hold the jacket is its low weight. The synthetic fibre jacket was designed for outdoor activities that require you to travel light. To shield you from the elements, the Haglöfs Essens Mimic is equipped with unique QuadFusion™ insulating material. This fabric is made of spiral-shaped synthetic fibres that clump together to form small balls, which retain air and warmth very effectively. Functionality-wise, the material is just like natural down, only made artificially. What makes Haglöfs QuadFusion™ material special is that it performs just as well when wet - this would be a normal down jacket’s downfall.
The outer material of the Haglöfs Essens Mimic is a light, rip- and windproof, DWR-coated Pertex® Shell that shields you on cold, wet days. It doesn’t just provide outstanding protection but is also made from bluesign® certified materials. With its QuadFusion™ insulating material (made of recycled plastic), the Haglöfs Essens Mimic was manufactured in a particularly sustainable way, making it an excellent alternative to down jackets. You can find the piece here.
