Saturday, 18th March, our ISAR RUN by Keller Sports met up with the adidas Runners for a joint run. The meeting point was our Keller Sports Store, on the banks of the River Isar in Munich. The runners made the most of our latest deal and tried out the new adidas TERREX products, more specifically, the adidas TERREX Agravic Alpha Hooded Shield jacket and the adidas TERREX Agravic Speed, both available in men’s and women’s models.
Below we’ve summarised all the impressions and opinions expressed on Saturday by our testers.
It was agreed overall that the adidas TERREX Agravic Alpha Hooded Shield jacket offers a good fit. Despite its slim cut, it provides enough freedom of movement. The main highlight is the jacket’s low weight, as well as its wind- and waterproof material. The women in the group were not very impressed with the colour of the jacket and zips - the men’s model seemed to have a more appealing design to them. The jacket was tested at 10 degrees Celsius in wet, windy weather, as is to be expected when wearing an outdoor jacket. The runners would recommend the jacket for these conditions, but would not wear it if the weather were colder.
The adidas TERREX Agravic Speed was used along the challenging Isar trails for about 10 k during an hour. The shoe is more suited to narrow feet, and runners with slightly wider feet had a few problems with the fit. Thanks to the Continental sole made from genuine mountain bike tyre material, the shoe offers very good support and is slip-proof even on wet wood and stones. As was the case with the jacket, the runners were impressed with the shoe’s light weight. Weighing in at just 255 grams for the men’s model and 215 grams for the women’s, adidas really has saved on weight with this shoe. Water and dirt does get in the shoe if you run through mud, but it dries relatively quickly. All in all, the runners recommend this shoe as long as it is the right fit.
