Tuesday evening, 30° C… What could be better than spending your evening stand-up paddling on the Isar? That’s exactly what our participants thought during our SUP event on 18th July! All 7 of them were very lucky to take part, as the event was fully booked the same evening we announced it!

We met up at the Isar channel on Zentralländstraße, Munich. The SUPs were already waiting anxiously for their new paddlers. Together with the Keller Sports and Fanatic teams, the participants pumped up and prepared the boards for the ride. Shortly before starting, our coach Sonnia, from Call-a-Yogi, gave us a quick introduction to stand-up paddling and told us how to handle the boards.

We didn’t want to waste too much time talking, though - we wanted to spend as much time as possible on the water! To develop a feel for the boards, the participants paddled on their knees, to begin with. A bit of paddle training soon helped them get to grips with the board.

They were soon all standing and paddling at the same time, under the watchful eye of Sonnia, who kept giving tips and tricks. In the end, they all took to the SUP boards like ducks to water!

Thankfully, the weatherman was on our side and it stayed dry until the end of the event, despite a couple of clouds later on that didn’t bother any of us!

Of course, we had enough time at the end for some group photos and a question-and-answer session on stand-up paddling, Fanatic boards and Keller Sports.

We’re looking forward to welcoming another 7 participants next time and enjoying another round of "Keller Sports & Fanatic go Stand-Up-Paddling"! There’s currently a waiting list for this event. If you don’t get a place, remember that you still have the chance to take to the water with a SUP board borrowed from our store.

If you have any questions, write to us via our Facebook page or e-mail address: [email protected] or, if you’re in Munich, pay us a visit in-store!

Larger groups (up to 8 boards) are best booked in advance. We’ll happily give you some tips on where to use them!

What are you waiting for?
