Nike turned to the expertise of developers, chemists, engineers and designers in its search for an innovative sole material with even more potential for energy return. This is the first time that the brand has used its own materials to plan, manufacture and launch a shoe all from scratch.

The result? Nike React. What makes this new cushioning special is that the brand has succeeded in combining different materials to create a shoe that’s light yet durable, both cushioned and responsive.

The Nike Epic React has already passed a performance potential experiment consisting in a 17,000-mile test run. Another few comfort highlights to mention are the tried-and-tested breathable Nike Flyknit upper and the seamless Bootie construction.

“We’re comparing it to our latest Lunarlon and, even with the bar set that high, Nike React technology delivers that much more energy return with each and every stride,” says Ernest Kim, Director of Advanced Footwear at Nike Running. We’re very excited about this new shoe and we’re looking forward to hearing what you have to say about it.
