In 1978, our Swedish partner Fjällräven launched a rucksack designed to prevent posture problems in Swedish schoolchildren: the Fjällräven Kånken. This small rucksack with practical storage space soon became a bestseller and is still worn and loved by Swedish schoolchildren to this day. We now have several different versions in many different colours in our selection, so we’d like to introduce you to the Fjällräven Kånken daypack:
What really makes these rucksacks stand out is the hard wearing vinylon material, which repels dirt and water, making the rucksack just as suited to outdoor trips as it is to the city. The large zip allows you to open the entire main compartment, so packing and unpacking the bag is really easy. The two flat side pockets and the zipped pocket at the front are ideal for storing items that need to be accessible on the go. As we’ve already mentioned, this rucksack was originally designed to prevent posture problems caused by many shoulder bags worn in the 70s. The Fjällräven Kånken’s adjustable carrier straps, top handle and padded back (which doubles up as a removable cushion to sit on) work together to provide comfort and encourage a straight, healthy posture.
Over 35 years after its launch, this classic’s success continues. The rucksack is still great for going to school and work, going on outdoor trips and travelling. The classic day pack is not alone in the range, however, as there are many different versions of the rucksack available. Some versions come with a padded laptop sleeve, and there’s even a little Kånken-style toiletry bag. Click here to browse through the practical Fjällräven Kånken rucksacks.
