When you mention “Engelberg”, the first thing that springs to mind is winter sports - not just because of the Ski Jumping World Cup, which takes place there every year and sees the world’s ski jumping elite breaking new records all the time. The place is also famous for its huge ski resort, with a piste length of 82 kilometres and a height of 3,000 metres above sea level, making it one of the highest ski resorts in Switzerland. This winter sports paradise is enjoyed by thousands of tourists and locals every year.

Freeride skier and Blizzard athlete Johan Jonsson feels right at home in the Swiss resort and has discovered another side of Engelberg by mingling with the locals. The skiers climbed up and then rode down the untouched, snowy cliffs and were treated to an incredible panorama. Jonsson tells us of his adventure: "I love how the progression of skis, boots and bindings now make it possible to reach further without compromising with gear. So after more than ten years in Engelberg it feels awesome to broaden the horizon a bit, and ski lines that are a bit off the beaten track. What makes me most stoked though, is that I've just scratched the surface of this valley. Good years to come!" This cool, unmissable film has resulted from this trip. Have fun dreaming of similar adventures, good weather and pure winter sports fun!
