Wondering what Sakura is or what it means? Read on to find out. Our partner ASICS has launched the Sakura Pack, which is a new colourway for some of the label’s shoes, shorts, tops, t-shirts and tights. This launch is yet another nod towards the brand’s Japanese roots. Apart from having a different name, the resulting summer shoes are particularly nice looking. The Gel-Kenun, Gel-Nimbus and RoadHawk FF in the Sakura Pack are not the only articles in the collection, which includes some pieces of clothing too. We’d now like to tell you what Sakura means and introduce you to the three shoes in the pack. ASICS Sakura Pack Laufgruppe

Sakura - Japanese cherry blossom

Sakura means cherry blossom in Japanese but it’s not as simple as that. Cherry blossom plays a big role in Japanese culture - it embodies beauty and new beginnings but also transience. The cherry blossom festival is celebrated between the end of March and the start of May to mark the beginning of the spring season. The actual blossoms themselves only really last around ten days and they sweep across the country from south to north. The whitish-pink flowers serve as an inspiration for the Japanese brand ASICS. The women’s shoe models in the Sakura Pack are available in a light pink shade, while the men’s come in a white-and-black design. ASICS Sakura Pack

ASICS Gel-Kenun SP

What makes the Kenun stand out is that it’s the only ASICS running shoe to have a gel cushion over the entire heel area. This results in a shoe that is softly cushioned and absorbs all impacts. Add this to the Solyte® midsole and the Kenun provides all the cushioning needed for exercising. The breathable mesh upper is what makes this shoe soft, cool and comfortable to wear. In a nutshell, the ASICS Gel-Kenun SP is not just suited to sports activities but is also the perfect trainer for everyday life. ASICS Gel Kenun Sakura

ASICS Gel-Nimbus 20 SP

The Nimbus is one of ASICS’ most popular shoe models and it’s already in its 20th edition. This model is proof of how hard ASICS works on constantly improving its shoes. It’s no surprise then, that the Gel-Nimbus 20 has also been included in the Sakura Pack. The shoe comes with outstanding cushioning. The FluidRide midsole, the FlyteFoam™ footbed and the SpEVA all work together in perfect harmony, so you’ll continue to enjoy soft, responsive cushioning even after long runs. The 360° Fluid Skin upper material ensures the shoe fits your foot to perfection. All of the technologies combine together to make the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 20 not just the most popular but also the most comfortable sports shoe produced by the Japanese brand. ASICS Roadhawk FF SP

If you’re looking for a light, fast and comfortable running shoe, you should have a look at the ASICS Roadhawk FF SP. The shoe is extremely responsive and, thanks to the FlyteFoam™ sole, it also provides soft cushioning. The combination of innovative and reinforced mesh results in a simple surface structure which keeps the foot in place while you run and delivers a superb fit. Like the ASICS Gel-Kenun, the Roadhawk also comes in a Sakura look, making it perfect for walking around the city - rest assured that your feet will never get tired in these! ASICS Roadhawk FF Sakura What do you think of the ASICS Sakura Pack? We’re really impressed with the men’s and women’s running shoes and the love the matching t-shirts, tops, shorts and tights - they’re a reflection of the cherry blossom festival and they celebrate the coming of spring.
