A few weeks ago we wrote about our partner adidas’ idea of manufacturing a shoe with recycled plastic waste fished out of the sea. On World Ocean Day, 7th June 2016, adidas presented the shoe together with Parley for the Oceans. We have the first pictures of it here for you. Only 50 pairs of these shoes have been produced worldwide. Famous athletes like football icon Zinedine Zidane also showed their support: “This is an inspiring partnership between adidas and Parley. What adidas and Parley is doing, by turning waste into a running shoe, shows that even waste that is harming the planet can be used to create something special” said the manager of Real Madrid.

Eric Liedtke, member of the board of Global Brands at the adidas Group, told the media: “This adidas x Parley running shoe is already iconic. It's a shoe for game changers. We can't wait to hear the stories of those who stand up, suggest creative solutions, take action and want to join us on our journey to clean up the oceans.”
