Our partner adidas has announced that its successful partnership with the German Olympic Sports Confederation will be extended. The new sponsor- and equipment contract will be valid until 2024, which means that adidas and the German Olympic Sports Confederation will be appearing together in the Pyeonchang (2018), Tokyo (2020) and Beijing (2022) Olympic Games. The renovation of the contract comes as no surprise, as adidas and the German Olympic Sports Confederation have been in a partnership for over 45 years.
Co-operation between both parties not only involves organising the top athletes’ equipment, such as the current gear in Rio de Janeiro, which exceeds 60,000 units; it also requires the development of programmes for newcomers, like the Youth Olympics. adidas group CEO Herbert Hainer says: “A close and trusting relationship with the German Olympic Team is without a doubt very important to us. We are glad to have the chance to continue supporting the best German athletes in future Olympic Games.” German Olympic Sports Confederation chairman Alfons Hörmann expands on this: “The adidas brand is an integral part of the German Olympic Team. We are very happy that this partnership will last until at least 2024.”
