The third ever Buff Epic Trail Ultra marathon will take place between the 22nd and 24th July - this involves around 250 athletes covering a distance of 105 kilometres in the Pyrenees and, while they are at it, gaining a total altitude of 8000 metres. It is not without reason that this run is considered one of the hardest ultra-trail marathons in the world and that is precisely why this year’s Ultra Sky marathon world championship will take place during the run. In the background of the competition there will be picturesque scenes of the rivers, waterfalls and moors of the natural parks of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici. The highest point throughout the race will be 2619 metres above the sea. Respect to all the athletes who manage to complete this challenge!
There are alternatives to this 105 kilometre run during the Buff Epic Trail event; these are 21 and 42 kilometre runs, and a Vertical K run – all of them worthy challenges.
