Kaspar Tanner's rope apprenticeship was completed, the three-year apprenticeship in Germany also ended. Endless mountain worlds, endless possibilities. In Dintikon, one hour northwest of Lucerne, Kaspar Tanner approached the matter contemplatively and founded a rope factory - without realizing that he had laid the foundation stone for one of the best-known premium outdoor brands of our time in 1862.

The MAMMUT had taken its first steps, but had not yet found its name. Tanner's company initially remained focused on rope, on safety, and from the 1940s onwards developed ever better mountain ropes. A red control thread in the rope became an early trademark, should confirm the quality of the products, the associated seal serve as a seal of quality. This seal had a mammoth on it. The next step to their own identity was taken.

Fate? On purpose? History. MAMMUT was finally born, developed further over the years and expanded its product portfolio step by step. Ropes remained, burial detectors, high-tech clothing, climbing equipment, backpacks and shoes were added. A single brand, the complete feel-good and safety package for excursions into the mountains. That's MAMMUT today. After the first jackets and trousers with Gore Tex membranes appeared in 1978, MAMMUT concentrated on new innovations. Together with the Swiss textile manufacturer Schoeller, MAMMUT developed the first Softshell trousers ever.

The engine? To give people who want to explore the mountains and who want to go beyond their limits the right equipment. This is also how the Eiger Extreme collection was created, which equips you for excursions to the high alpine as well as for ski tours and ice climbing. Innovative materials against extreme situations. Windproof. Hartshell. Softshell. Down. MAMMUT gives you all this - and never took the safety idea from its founding days out of the company DNA. Special avalanche backpacks with protection airbags are just as much a part of the collections today as the easy-to-use Barryvox avalanche search devices and avalanche probes.

MAMMUT's idea is to offer you everything you need for intensive encounters with nature. To equip you for ski tours as well as for climbing or hiking trips in the high mountains. Keller Sports is boarding. We have everything you need for your next expedition, from fleece and functional shirts to high-tech jackets and the famous Softshell trousers. Also shoes - in 2003 MAMMUT took over the shoe segment of the traditional brand Raichle - and avalanche equipment can be found in our assortment. Of course you also have a free choice of material. Between Pertex, Gore Tex and PrimaLoft you are guaranteed to find the right protection against moisture, wind and cold.

MAMMUT products really feel at home when steep gorges build up all around, deep gorges open up, high peaks are bathed in intense white. Only then will all the high-tech materials come into their own. Seals of quality are one thing, experience of those who need to know, the other. MAMMUT therefore equips extreme mountaineers such as Dani Arnold or Marek Holecêk, extreme skiers such as Nadine Wallner or climber Caro North with its equipment, which all carry out product tests under extreme conditions. And innovative all-round materials also do no harm in everyday life and on excursions in the city or park. So MAMMUT does not only develop jackets especially for the city, the brand also keeps its designs so elegantly reserved that you only stand out positively in urban everyday life.

Enjoying nature without standing up for it is not an option for MAMMUT. After all, we can only admire the beauty of torrential mountain rivers and snow-covered slopes as long as someone stands up for them. MAMMUT offers therefore concentrate on production processes that are as clean as possible and keep emissions as low as possible. Thanks to the bluesign® system, harmful substances have no place in the supply chain in the first place and the company is systematically increasing the proportion of its products with the seal for environmentally friendly production and responsible use of resources. In addition, more and more recycled materials and organic cotton are used for MAMMUT products and strict animal welfare standards are observed - also by suppliers.

155 years of expertise and passion for the mountains have made the Swiss company MAMMUT a true institution for passionate mountaineers since 1862. Whether hiking, skiing or climbing - MAMMUT delivers the equipment, the shoes and the suitable clothing reliably and always up to date in terms of innovation and functionality. The now almost legendary Barryvox avalanche transceiver is just as much a part of the brand's portfolio as the collection for extreme winter sports scenarios called Eiger Extreme and backpacks for climbing, hiking and even a laptop bag for the office. Winter mountaineering, ice climbing or fast ski tours - with the robust and comfortable equipment of the brand with the characteristic MAMMUT in the logo you are well prepared to pursue your favourite sport in any weather!
