Wilson NXT TOUR 12m

This string is very elastic (can be clearly noticed while stringing because of the extreme stretch) and provides a lot of power and a great touch. But don’t put too much tension on it! Because of the strong expansion, the string becomes very hard at the end and then you take away the advantages from this string. I would recommend maximum 25 kilos, super oversize  rackets maybe up to 27 kilos, but not more! By the way, one more hint for stringing: You should pre-stretch this string to reduce the tension loss. Since mulifilament strings of this quality basically aren’t very tension stable, one could somewhat reduce this deficiency.

Regarding the durability, one may not expect too much from strings of this kind. Additionally, the durability of the NXT Tour decreases because of its PU-sealing. Though this causes the high elasticity and great comfort of this string, it also causes an extremely high friction on the surface. One can reduce this effect by not playing the string “purely” but for example combining it with a monofilament string, which has a smooth surface. You can get this combination as Wilson Ultimate Duo or even combine a package on your own. Thereby power and comfort are reduced a little, but on the other hand this improves control and durability.

Result: Whether purely or as hybrid – Regarding power, touch and comfort, the NXT Tour is on top of the list.
