Feedback from the keller-sports.com team:
As this string marks the beginning of modern Co-polyester strings, it definitely deserves the name „original“. The durability is extraordinary. For me it’s really hard to break the one with 1,30mm not to mention the version with 1,38mm. But durability alone can’t be the reason for many pros using the “BBO”. Since players like Nalbandian, Gasquet or Ferrer seldom play their string long enough to break it, the great control and remarkable tension stability might be more important attributes for the popularity of this string. No matter how hard and fast you play, the BBO offers maximum control – for an astonishing long period. While most monofilament strings should be cut out after 15 to 20hrs because they’re finished, the Big Banger Original holds its tension considerably longer. On the other hand this string offers only little comfort, but this is not at all what the BBO is designed for.
One more advice concerning the string tension: In my opinion it’s nonsense to choose a tension higher than 25 or 26 kilos because otherwise you lose any power. Richard Gasquet for example plays the BBO with 23 to 24 kilos with a 100 sqin frame with 16 mains.
Result: For players who want pure control and durability, the BBO is the right choise. Players, however, who tend to arm problems, should take their hands off!
