details and properties
The Nike Free Run+ 2: Barefoot-like feel, shoe-like benefits Taking a cue from the intricate workings of the bare foot, the Nike Free Run+ 2 Men's Running Shoe is designed to maximise the foot's natural range of motion while providing protection and cushioning for a smooth ride. Benefits: - Inner sleeve for a snug fit and enhanced breathability - Bonded synthetic overlays for super-strong, flexible support - Fused Phylite midsole and outsole for an ultra-lightweight, resilient ride - Deep flex grooves along the outsole for natural range of motion and flexibility Fit: Designed to keep the foot in place without restricting movement, the Nike Free Run+ 2 features bonded overlays for excellent support. Lightweight and flexible, these thin strips are attached to the mesh upper for a streamlined fit. The inner sleeve provides a snug feel, yet it's dynamic enough to move with the natural motion of the foot. Flexibility: Deep flex grooves along the outsole allow the foot to move naturally in multiple directions. The heel features a "centre of pressure" design that provides additional cushioning on contact, maximising overall flexibility. Cushioning: Without sacrificing the feel of barefoot running, the Nike Free Run+ 2 Shoe delivers a plush, cushioned ride. Phylite material seamlessly fuses the midsole with the outsole, creating a one-piece design that's as resilient as it is durable. The moulded sockliner mimics the curves of the foot for a comfortable, supportive fit. Origins: After learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university's golf course, three of Nike's most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless, just like bare feet. In 2002, they examined a group of men and women with pressure-measuring insoles taped to their feet, using high-speed cameras to capture images of each foot in motion. The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of shoeless running. The results yielded a profound understanding of the foot's natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, allowing Nike designers to build an unconventional and flexible running shoe from the inside out. Additional Details: - Asymmetrical lacing system to help reduce pressure over the top ridge of the foot - Waffle lugs at the outsole for impact absorption and traction - Nike+ ready NikeFree Studies suggest that barefoot runners develop stronger feet. Natural motion builds strength, and strength means speed. NikeFree is all about speed. But first you'll need to build your muscles, because NikeFree takes some getting used to. Deep cuts in the outsole mean your feet flex and move the way they would if you were barefoot.
