Whoever was betting that the new Nadal racket was going to be ground-breaking is surely proven wrong with this new model. Babolat would have been pretty poorly advised, if they would have drastically changed such a successful racket. As with before, the Pure Drive offers a mix of power and control at a high level and also a huge spin potential. As with before, for those who cannot hit with the top spin, simply should not use this.
The question now is, what has actually now changed with the new GT version? The answer is already hidden in the question: "GT - Graphite-Tungsten”. GT represents the carbon network and tungsten fibers that are in the frame, which provide it with more stability at certain points, but without making it harder. The former I agree with: that the racket offers slightly higher stability, but I think, however, that the framework also feels a bit harder than its predecessor.
Conclusion: The proven game features of the "SpinMonsters," now with more stability upon impact.
