Looking for a racket?

Admittely, finding the right racket can indeed be quite confusing. Head size, weight, profile, grip size, etc. Therefore, for all those who find these parameters rather confusing than of any assistance, we have put together a few hints to help recreational palyers find the right racket that suits them best:

Type 1 : Racket for newcomers or occasional players

You just have the itch to try out tennis as a sport or you would simply like to play every now and then (in your holidays for instance)?! Then a low-priced racket is absolutely does the job. Those rackets already have standard strings so can give it a go right away.

Here is a selection of suitable rackets:

Type 2: Racket for beginners

You have just started playing tennis and would definitely like to continue?! What you need is a racket which supports you, but also gives you feedback about your faults and flaws. Also, the racket should not be "below your level" after a few months already.

Some of those rackets are not offered with strings, so when it comes to choosing the right strings you should give priority to one than gives you power and control.

Type 3: Comfort racket

You have been playing for a while, but the pain in your arm troubles you and tempers your pleasure?! What you need is an arm friendly comfort racket which above all gives you power.

Those rackets are mostly offered without strings. When it comes to choosing the right string you should give priority to one that gives you power and control.

Type 4: Allround racket

You have been playing tennis for quite a time and your level is already high, maybe you also play in a team and are looking for a "just in case" racket which will do any job?!

Those rackets are mostly offered without strings. When it comes to choosing the right string you hould give priority to one that gives you power and control.

Type 5: Competition racket

You are technically adept and on a high level, you play on a regular basis and take part in team games, maybe tournaments too?! What you need is a rather heavy racket with a small head size and little profile. The higher your level, the smaller the racket head, the thinner the profile and the heavier the racket should be.

Those rackets are mostly offered without strings. When it comes to choosing the right string, you need to decide which characteristics are most important for you. If it's control and durabilty you should choose a monofilament string. If it's power and touch, a multifilament string is rather the appropirate choice.
